| Abstract: | This paper discusses the essential meaning of the English progressive aspect from the views of the cognitive linguistics; on the theoretical basis of the "prototype category" of the cognitive linguistics, this paper tries to structure the prototype schema of the English progressive aspect and its variations, in order to know better the essential meaning of the English progressive aspect and its usage. |
