| Abstract: | The differences about the fictive use of kinship title （KT for short）in Chinese and English result from the cultural differences between the two languages. This paper begins with the perspective of socio- dexis, then illustrates some examples and analyzes their pragmatic functions in the Chinese culture. Finally, discussions regarding some problems in translating KT from Chinese to English is also included in the present paper. |
