概念隐喻理论及其对英汉语言教学的启示

摘    要:概念隐喻理论诞生于上世纪80年代,它认为隐喻无所不在,是语言现象,也是人类思维的基本特征,包括方位隐喻、实体隐喻和结构隐喻。概念隐喻有其存在的认知理据,掌握和利用概念隐喻理论有助于培养学生隐喻性思维。讨论概念隐喻理论对英汉语言教学(词汇教学、句式教学和篇章教学)的重要作用,旨在提高学生语言理解和运用的自觉性。

Abstract:Conceptual Metaphor Theory came into being in the 1980s and it holds that conceptual metaphor, as a language phenomenon, is everywhere and shapes the basic c-haracteristics of human cognition. It includes Ori?ental Metaphor, Ontological Metaphor and Structural Metaphor. It has its cognitive motivation and mastering and making good use of Conceptual Metaphor Theory is conducive to cultivating students' metaphorical thinking ability. Basing on the author's teaching practice, this paper discusses the significance of Conceptual Metaphor Theory for English and Chinese teaching (vocabulary, syntax, discourse and cultural difference teaching) with the ultimate aim of enhancing the self-consciousness of students' language comprehension and use.
