Abstract: | AbstractResinous substances from Egyptian XIIth Dynasty tombs were analyzed by highperformance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and diode array detection. The unambiguous identification of two samples with actual standards of myrrh and mastic (Pistacia lentiscus) is described. They are characterized by comparison of their chromatographic patterns, the UV spectra of the main constituents and infrared data. |
