| 摘 要： | 语法翻译法在其鼎盛时期引入中国，为了社会的需要广泛应用在英语教学中，至今已有近200年的历史，这在中国英语教学上是绝无仅有的。中华民族的内倾性格、儒家教育思想及方法、语言学习的环境限制和应试增长率等多方面因素的影响，使语言翻译法成为英语教学中广泛采用的教学方法，历史事实说明任何西方先进的英语教学理论和方法必须与本民族的具体实际相结合才有用武这地。

| Abstract: | Grammar-translation method, introduced in China when it was popularly used in west, is widely employed in the all level of English classes for nearly 200 years. This is the most specific feature of Chinese English teaching. The Introverted character, Confucian educational thoughts and language learning circumstances are the important facts that lead the grammar-translation method extensively used in the area of English language teaching in China. This also enlighten us that only those foreign language teaching methods that with national characters have their vitalities. |
