| 摘 要： | 在英汉翻译中，完整准确地传递信息焦点，以达到信息的等效传递是十分重要的．在英语中，词汇手段和句法手段是突出句子焦点信息的常用方法，而虚词或虚词短语在这两种手段的实现中起到非常关键的作用．理清英语虚词用法及其突出信息的方法，对于英汉翻译实践具有很好的指导意义．
