| 摘 要： | 运用韩礼德系统功能语法理论，从情态系统中的三个方面对六篇英文社论语篇进行了人际功能分析，揭示了该语体人际意义的特点。大量运用情态动词和带主观色彩的评论附加语、语气附加语和褒贬词语，体现了社论的语旨，即体现某种立场、观点，评述社会上的重大事件或问题。

| Abstract: | The characteristics of interpersonal function are explained with the analysis on six English editorials from three aspects of modality. The intensive use of modal verbs, coinmendatory,and derogatory terms is the tenor of editorials, which stands for certain position, viewpoint while commenting social events and important issues. |
