| 摘 要： | 隋代是我国佛教发展较快的一个历史时期。除隋文帝发挥较大作用外，隋炀帝在发展佛教方面的作用主要表现在一、兴建了大批佛寺、像塔。二、搜集、整理、翻译、缮写了大量的佛教经卷。三、广度僧尼。四、支持智颇创建了当时最大的佛教宗派——天台宗。五、支持三论宗的创建，为其形成创造了条件。隋炀帝对佛教的支持，为唐代佛教的兴盛奠定了基础。与隋文帝一味地崇佛有很大的不同，隋炀帝实际上对佛教采取了一种既利用又限制的政策，使佛教既能为巩固隋朝统治服务，又不至于过分地耗费财力、物力，从而影响社会的稳定。隋炀帝崇佛的原因是他利用佛教为其争当太子和巩固统治服务的。

| Abstract: | The Sui Dynasty was a historical period when Buddhism gained a considerably rapid development in our country. Aside from Emperor of Wen, Emperor of Yang played a significant part in the development of Buddhism. His contributions to Buddhism lay largely in the following five ways: first, getting a number of Buddhist monasteries, pagodas and statues built; secondly, having a large quantity of Buddhist sutra collected, sorted out, translated and written out; thirdly, making a broad mass of monks and nuns converted into Buddhism; fourthly, giving support to Zhiyi in his effort to establish the sect of Tiantai, the biggest Buddhist sect in those days; and finally, actively supporting the establishment of the sect of Sanlun by creating necessary conditions for its shaping. Emperor of Yang's support to Buddhism laid a solid foundation for the flourishing of Buddhism in the Tang Dynasty, but his support to Buddhism differed considerably from that of Emperor of Wen who worshipped it just blindly. In fact, Empeor of Yang executed a series of policies both to utilize and to confine Buddhism so that it would serve the consolidation of the rule of the Sui Dynasty on the one hand, and, on the other, would not affect social stability in the day at the cost of extravagant finance and material. However, the true reason that Emperor of Yang worshipped Buddhism served his very attempt to be selected as the crown prince and to strengthen his rule thereafter. |
