| Abstract: | Edgar Allan Poe has great skill in artistic atmosphere designing, which is one of the best features in his novels, among which The Fall of the House of Usher is original in many ways, such as the selective symbols, the background with color and foil, the narration in the first person, the fancy plots, the stories full of mystery, the careful attention to detail, etc. From the analysis of atmosphere designing, this paper is intended to reveal the peculiar charm of Allen Poe's novels. |
