| 摘 要： | 阅读在高职高专大学英语教学中占相当大的比例,然而高职学生在阅读中经常碰到种种困难,从而使其惧怕阅读。这种现象不仅仅因生词、短语所导致,而主要原因是阅读材料中蕴含着的丰富文化习俗。在高职高专大学英语教学中进行习俗教育将能激发学生的阅读欲望,提高学生的阅读速度和阅读理解能力,扫清阅读障碍,并增长学生的见识和拓宽其文化视野。
