| 摘 要： | 近代以来西方传教士是西学传播的重要载体,对中国社会的演变产生了深远影响。文章具体阐述了近代来华传教士采取"科学辅教"这一方式的多层次原因,简要介绍了传教士传播西学所采用四大传播途径,即创办报刊、教会学堂、医疗慈善和译介西学,并结合国门洞开这一社会现实,分析了近代传教士传播西学经历的三个时间阶段,从而在文章的最后,能够较为客观、公正地评价近代西方传教士在西学传播中的作用。

| Abstract: | Since modern times, western missionaries played important roles in spreading the western culture. They made great influence on the evolution of Chinese society. The reasons for the missionaries employing the way of ＂science assisting religion＂ are analyzed. The major ways of spreading the western culture are also introduced, namely founding newspapers, church schools, medical charity, and translations. The stages of the propagation are also analyzed based on the social reality of China＇ s passive opening. At last, the function and role of the western missionaries is commented. |
