| Abstract: | Modern education theory holds that the aim of learning is to apply the knowledge, and learning is an autonomous process. English instruction should center on the learner and cultivate their ability of autonomy. Starting with defining the concept of autonomous learning, this article argues for the characteristics of autonomous learning, explores the functioning and composing of the autonomous center. Based on the practical situation, the article ends up with an analysis on the prospect of the center and its difficulties as well. |
