摘    要:国际学生有着学生和外国旅居者的双重身份,本研究主要关注其作为学生在大学校园中的跨文化适应情况及其影响因素。研究结果表明,在华国际学生的社会文化适应性可分为交际适应性、环境适应性和认知适应性,适应性的水平主要受到与中国师生互动情况的影响。国际学生与中国师生互动越好,越能更好地完成社会文化适应。研究结果还显示,较之来自西方国家的学生,东亚地区的留学生在文化适应上遇到更多的困难。此外,满意度可以作为预测社会文化适应性的重要指标。

Abstract:International students face the dual demands of cross-cultural adaptation as both a student and a sojourner. This study explores cross-cultural adaptation and its determinants by seeing them as students. Results indicate that cross-cultural adaptation among international students in China is largely shaped by the nature of their interaction with host nationals. In particular, among international students, those who experienced higher levels of social interaction with Chinese students and teachers and received more social support were better poised for cross-cultural adaptation. Results also show that international students from East Asia experienced more cross-cultural difficulties than their counterparts from the West. Moreover, the degree of satisfaction in terms of social interaction and social support emerge as strong indicators of cross-cultural adaptation.
