| 摘 要： | 北洋时期大批美国银行进入中国,美国在华银行业迅速发展。其活动除了基本的存贷款和汇兑业务,还有发行纸币,扶植美国在华企业,参与中国的社会文化活动和进行非法投机业务等。美国在华银行具有特权银行和商业银行的两面性,利用各种特权对中国进行经济侵略,其商业性质在一定程度上促进了中国经济现代化。研究这一时期美国在华银行业的发展及其影响,对当前中国银行业对外资银行全面开放具有一定的借鉴意义。
