| 摘 要： | 标记是语言学中的重要概念,但以往的论述仅限于语言各层面,未见涉及文字。本文应用标记理论分析了英美人名汉译时对男女名译音用字的选择,发现只存在典型的女名译音专用字(有标记字),而没有男名译音专用字。男名只用无标记字来译,从而得出结论;操汉语者译英美人名时不仅注重男女有别,而且有男性中心主义的心理倾向,其体现是译音用字的字义标记性。

| Abstract: | The notion of markedness is very important in linguistics,but discussions on it up to noware only in the range of various aspects of language,without mentioning writing. This paper applies thetheory of markedness to analyze the choosing of Chinese characters in rendering English names into Chi-nese, and finds that there are only special characters (marked characters)for women's names,but no specialcharacters for men's names,which are represented by unmarked characters,thus drawing the conclusionthat Chinese-speaking people,in rendering English names into Chinese,not only attach importance to gen-der difference, but tend to regard men, not women,as the core of human beings. |
