| Abstract: | Zhang Ai-Ling was a legendary female writer who lived in the enemy-occupied area of Shanghai during the 1940's.Her literary works shine with unique artistic charm. Zhang Ai-Ling was so skilled in capturing the psychology and emotion of the common people that she can penetrate the meaninglessness of daily life and reflect its despair. Zhang Ai-Ling's world view and her outlook on life are nihilistic and despairing. |
