| Abstract: | Vast in range and rich in mineral resources, the west of China is an important energy and raw material base of the country. With the technical advantages of great transport capacity, low cost and all weather, railway transport can meet the need of long-distance material exchange between the west and middle, the east. It can also offer a basic condition for improving the inverstment environment in the west. It is of the first importance to research on railway construction in the strategy of developing the west. Developing the west has offered a new opportunity for the railway construction in this part of China. |
