| Abstract: | Domestication and foreingnization,two basic strategies used in translation to balance cultural elements of the source language and target language,are usually applied to the translation of Chinese idioms into English.Their adequate application to the translation can make a mutual compensation for cultural inadequacy and promote the communication between the members of the two cultures. |
