| Abstract: | The political marriage among royal families that had once had great influence in history is a kind of political tactics, in which marriage is employed to attain certain political goals. Its forms are various and its functions differ with the different purposes of marriage. Being based on the hereditary system of throne succession, this kind of marriage vanished into history when national states came into being. |
