学生视角下《高级英语》与跨文化交际能力培养

摘    要:文章通过实证研究探讨在英语教学中培养大学生“讲好中国故事”的能力,通过问卷调查,从学生视角重审英语专业教材《高级英语》涉及跨文化交际能力培养的内容、练习及活动设计。研究发现该套教材虽对跨文化交际能力培养的英语技能有很大帮助,但教材内容在文化多样性、文化批判意识和个人叙事能力等方面略显乏力。为此,文章立足学生需求从中国文化知识、时代性、交际策略、故事性等方面为今后的教材编撰和教材使用提出建议。

Abstract:This study aims to explore the use of English textbook and its impact on cultivating students'ability in Well-telling the Stories of China at tertiary level.Data were collected from questionnaire survey to investigate students'view that to what extend their skills of intercultural communication were fostered by classroom teaching and learning the textbook of"Advanced English".Findings show that the textbook is helpful but lack of varieties in its materials in terms of cultural diversity,critical thinking in cultural identity,and ideological narrative technique.Results from this study provide suggestion on future design of teaching materials specifically to meet students'needs for knowledge of traditional Chinese culture,updated information of cross-cultural communication,skills for intercultural communication and narrative technique.
