| 摘 要： | 传统英语语法、功能语法以及转换生成语法分别从描述、衔接和生成角度讨论了英语中的省略现象.纯语言环境下的省略现象是其主要理论着眼点,外指省略现象则超出了它们的讨论范围.认知语言学的相关研究表明,省略依赖语境,语境包括语言的、物理的和心理的三个方面,省略现象是语言经济和语境下人类转喻思维的结果.

| Abstract: | Traditional grammars,functional grammar and transformational-generative grammar all tried to provide accounts for ellipses.Constricted by their static view toward language,their theoretical concern was limited solely to sentential ellipses.Exphoric ellipses,a pervasive linguistic phenomenon,are not even mentioned or given serious consideration in their accounts.So their theorizations were incomplete and far from revealing their nature.If ellipses are to be properly explained,human cognition must be taken into account.Relevant theories in cognitive linguistics indicate that,ellipses,be they exphoric or sentential,are a result of linguistic economy and metonymic thinking under specific contexts,which can be linguistic,physical,psychological or a mixture of them. |
