摘    要:教育哲学是课程决定的起点,不同的哲学取向影响课程的目标、 内容、 方法和材料的选择。对课程背后的意识形态和哲学构想的讨论直接影响课程的目标定位、 课程设置和发展方向。本文以 Stern( 1983) 的课程理论为依据,从教育哲学尤其是认知发展课程观角度,讨论改革时期大学英语课程开设的理据、 定位和大学英语的教学内容等问题。本文认为,改革时期大学英语课程仍应从人本主义哲学思想出发, 以培养“全人” 为目标 ,“人文性” 与“工具性” 相互交融。进行课程设计时,应根据学生的语言水平和层次差异,做到基础英语、 外语通识教育与专门用途英语和双语课程相结合,按层次、 按阶段培养。

Abstract:Educational philosophy is the starting point for curriculum-related decisions. The objectives, contents, methods and materials of a curriculum are greatly influenced by the underlying educational philosophies. The present paper aims to discuss Curriculum objectives, contents and development of the College English Course from the perspective of educational philosophy. It is proposed that College English should follow the“Whole Person Principle”of Humanism, and open general English, English for Liberal Education, English for Special Purpose and bilingual courses for students of different English levels. General English course is set up for students of lower level; English for Liberal Education is set up to cultivate cultural awareness of EFL students; English for Special Purpose and bilingual courses are opened for advanced students.
