The information factor of societal development
Authors:A D Elyakov
Abstract:So much has been written about the importance of information, information resources and technologies in the modern social medium that the number of publications far outmatches that of many classical domains of scholarship. Nevertheless, according to F. Webster, one of the most respected scholars of the information society, “one cannot determine how information has gained the central place in society; it is so important that it has become a factor for shaping a society of a new type” (Webster F., Theories of Information Society, Moscow, 2002, p. 14). It is now hardly possibly to give an irrefutable answer to this question, this needs time. However, one should make attempts to solve the problem. Thus, we wrote this paper within the framework of this need.
