| 摘 要： | 习语是语言的重要组成部分，是语言中的精华。英汉两个民族的地理环境、风俗习惯、宗教信仰、寓言神话、历史故事等方面存在差异，英汉习语呈现出不同的民族形式，渗透着不同的民族化气息。习语的价值在其意，在翻译时，首先要保证原习语的语用意义的传达。要提高习语翻译的质量并避免误泽，必须研究两种化的弄同，增进双语化的知识，提高对化内涵的理解与表达能力。

| Abstract: | Idioms are the cream of language. There are enormous cultural distinctions between English and Chinese cultures in historical background, geographic position, customs and habits, religions and fables, etc . These cultural differences exert deep influences over the idioms. The values of idioms are in their connotations. In translating, we must convey the pragmatic meaning of the idioms. In order to improve the correctness of translation of idioms and avoid mistranslating, translators must make a study on the two cultures, and improve their understanding and expressing competence in cultural connotations . |
