| Abstract: | Shreeram Shankar Abhyankar, an extraordinary mathematician and educator, passed away on November 2, 2012 at the age of 82. He remained active in research as well as teaching and was constantly engaged in “doing mathematics” almost till his last breath. This, and the accompanying articles, are meant as a tribute to Prof. Abhyankar and an attempt to provide some glimpses of the person and his work. |
