钱钟书“化境说”的创新意识

摘    要:中国传统翻译理论强调译者对原作的“忠实”,忽视译者的创新。钱钟书的“化境说”则强调译者的创新意识。在钱钟书先生看来 ,译笔无妨出原著头地。“化境说”的创新意识首先表现在它对翻译的性质与任务的严格限定 ;其次是肯定译者的创造性 ,以“笔补造化”、“得意忘言”来揭示文学翻译的艺术规律。根据钱钟书先生的美学原则 ,造艺中人的能动作用直接影响译作的质量。译者忠实于原作并不是依样画葫芦 ,而是根据他个人的审美原则 ,对原作的内容与形式作出艺术的再创造。

Abstract:Chinese traditional translation theory has paid great attention to the translator's faithfulness to the original but neglected creativity of the translator. On the contrary, Qian Zhongshu's principle of “Transmigration” emphasizes creativity. According to Qian Zhongshu, the translation may surpass the original. The creativity of “Transmigration” first of all lies in the prescribing the task and nature of translation. Next, it affirms the creativity of the translator, revealing the art of translation by the principle of “making up for the loss by the creativity” and “ getting the idea and forgetting the words”. In accordance with the aesthetic standards of Qian Zhongshu, the quality of the translation depends on the creativity of the translator. To be true to the original is not to imitate, but to recreate on the basis of the content and form of the original in accordance with translator's aesthetic principle.
