| 摘 要： | 凯瑟琳·安·波特是美国著名南方女作家.她以为数不多的中、短篇小说和一部长篇蜚声美国文坛.她的短篇小说"斜塔"以一次世界大战之后、纳粹主义兴起之前的德国为背景,谴责了战争的罪恶,审视了人类的弱点和趋恶性,表达了作者对人类处境与命运的关注.本文从波特精湛的写作手法入手,从小说伦理学的角度对<斜塔>的主题进行分析.

| Abstract: | The writing attempts to make a thematic study from the viewpoint of ethics of fiction of Porter's short story "The Leaning Tower".The main theme in the story is the inadequacies of mankind and the general breakdown of an imperfect society.In the short story,Porter strongly indicts that it is the war that destroys the society and its members,and it is the indifference and isolation and cruelty between people that have resulted in the general breakdown of an imperfect society like Germany in those days.Nowadays the world itself is far from being lauded.Thus,works exposing the inadequacies of mankind and society and reminding human beings of self-reflection are by no means outdated.By interpreting Porter's short story,we can draw much understanding about society,life and self.Read from this perspective,this short story,still of great significance,deserves serious study even today. |
