| Abstract: | Cathay by Ezra Pound is an epoch-making masterpiece in the history of modern poetry in the west. Ezra Pound, as a representative of Imagination indulged himself in spreading of Chinese culture and he was deeply influenced by Chinese culture and Chinese classical verses. The paper deals with this piece of work Cathay by studying its source, Pound's theory of translation and actual examples of translation. With detailed exploration of Cathay, we try to find some traces from Chinese classical verse in Pound's translation. |
