| 摘 要： | 辽水为我国古代六川之一,其名最早见于《山海经.海内东经》。辽水之内涵为辽地之水。由于＂辽水＂与＂辽东＂的悠久性和代表性,对一系列以＂辽＂字冠名的地名的衍生产生了重要的影响。＂辽海＂是除辽东、辽水之外又一个十分重要的＂辽＂字地名。根据史料分析,辽海难以涵盖我国东北地区,但基本涵盖了今天辽宁的大部分区域,同时辽海一名充分体现了辽宁地域文化、流域文化和海洋文化的特点,适合冠名辽宁的历史与文化。
