| 摘 要： | 奥尼尔是美国戏剧史上具有划时代意义的剧作家。《毛猿》是他的一部早期代表作。本文运用了非理性主义思潮中萨特的"写作这是要求某种自由的方式"的理论,分析了《毛猿》中自由的主题,揭示了人类自由的本性,并指出在阶级社会中自由存在着不同程度的异化。

| Abstract: | O'Neill is a major figure in the second great efflorescence of American literature that occurred in the first half of the twentieth century.The Hairy Ape won for O'Neill a round of international acclaim in the early 1920s.Among the various approaches to decode the center of interests,this article takes up the existentialist approach.The writer will give a detailed analysis of the freedom theme in the The Hairy Ape which reveals that all literary works are to emphasize the freedom of humanity. |
