英汉文化差异与商标的英译

摘    要:商标翻译是商品质量、规格和特点的标志。我国出口产品商标英译中常见的问题有译名不适应英语语言文化的需求,译名忽略了外国消费者的文化风俗习惯,译名缺乏了解和把握政治经济内涵、译名欠雅等。在商标翻译中应注重英汉文化差异,采用音译、意译、音意融合译等几种行之有效的商标英译方法。

Abstract:Translation of trademarks symboliz es,specification and features of goods.This paper analyses the common problems detected in the trademarks translation of s ome chinese exports.These problems are:the translated name doesn' t apply to the need of English languag e culture,the foreign coustomers' culture and custom are overlooked,t he political and economical intention are not com-peletely understood and grasped,th e translated name is not refined,and so on.Great attention should be paid to E/C cultural differentces in Chinese-English trademarks tran slating.The author also puts forward several practical approach es,such as transliteration,free tr anslation,to translating trademarks in English.
