| 摘 要： | 英语竞赛活动在高职院校英语教学中的作用不可忽视,竞赛的过程就是课堂教学的延续。全国大学生英语竞赛在倡导重在参与的基础上培养学生勇于进取、永不言败的竞技精神,有助于学生夯实和扩展英语基础知识和基本技能。为了使学生们能在竞赛中取得骄人成绩,我们采取了一些应对措施并收到了良好效果：如因材施教、实施分级教学;改革传统的教学进度、实现教学前移;在日常教学工作中注意培养尖子生并且在校园中给学生们营造出良好的英语学习氛围等。
