| Abstract: | This paper analyzes the materialist standpoints of "to know the differences between Heaven and man" and "to master the laws of Heaven then make use of them" set forth by Master Xun in his On Heaven, elucidates the ideas of "Heaven as nature" and "doing everything by man's self--dependence", and refutes the idealist arguments of "Heaven as God's will" and "submitting to Nature". |
