| 摘 要： | 为了让人们了解英语委婉语的重要性,通过对英语委婉语的特点及语用功能进行研究,发现英语委婉语的主要特点包括间接性、模糊性、差异性、时代性。其功能主要包括表达禁忌功能、礼貌功能、掩饰功能和美化功能。掌握这些特点及语用功能可以提高人们对其认识及交际能力。
