| Abstract: | Based on teaching practice and the discrepancies of the oriental and occidental modes of thinking, this paper analyzes the various drawbacks in the College English writings caused by the negative transfer of the oriental mode of thinking. It is hoped that the analysis will make students aware of the discrepancies so as to model them on the occidental thinking and compose idiomatic English writings. |
