| Abstract: | Reading comprehension is an important part in TEM -4 （Test for English Majors -4 ）. It requires students to find out information and infer textual meaning accurately by using reading skills. Thematic analysis is one important approach in discourse analysis. By analyzing themes and thematic progression patterns of texts from TEM - 4 reading, this paper attempts to examine the applicability of the theory of thematic structure in TEM - 4 text analysis in order to improve teaching of reading for English majors and enhance students＇ reading comprehension. |
