Abstract:This paper mainly discusses the properties of high strength steel fiber reinforced concrete under compression. Steel fibers with volume content of 1% do not display significant effect on the strain at peak stress and the area of the ascending portion of the stress strain curve of concrete. They mainly depends on the compressive strength of the concrete. The strain at 80% peak stress in the descending portion for the concrete with steel fibers increased by more than 0 0005 mm/mm compared to the plain concrete. Steel fibers and the concrete strength influence the area of the descending portion and the strain at 30% peak stress in the desending curve significantly.
