萨丕尔-沃尔夫语言相对论思想及其对第二语言教学的启示

摘    要:萨丕尔一沃尔夫假说是上个世纪语言学上具有重大意义的理论,该理论的核心就是语言决定思维即语言相对论(我们在这里指的是“弱式”假说)。作为一种语言理论,萨丕尔一沃尔夫假说中的合理成分对第二语言教学具有积极作用。语言是一个民族看待世界的样式,那么不同的语言结构具有不同的价值系统和意义系统;第二语言教学就应该以目的语特点出发,以目的语的结构特点来进行教学。

Linguistic Relativism and Its Implications for Second Language Teaching

Abstract:Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis the linguistic theory of last century that is ot significance ana its core laea is mat language determines thought, i.e. linguistic relativism (we call it “weak” hypothesis here). As a language theory, the reasonable elements of Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis have positive function to the second language teaching. Language is the way a people views the world, so different language structures have different value systems and meaning systems. Second language teaching should start with the features of target language, carrying out the teaching based on the features of the structural features of target language.
