| 摘 要： | 太平天国运动是中国近代史上第一次重大的内部战争,其持续时间长,造成了许多地区的人口锐减。湖州府位于战争的地理要冲,人口损失尤为严重,导致这种现象的原因是多方面的。战后为了恢复经济生产,湖州府推行"招垦"政策,来自各地区的移民大量涌入湖州。这些移民既带来了充足的劳动力,促进了经济、文化、生活的进步,亦带来了一些问题。
