| Abstract: | Staff development programs and activities do not, in themselves, motivate staff They are catalytic in nature and need to be understood in the context of adult learning and motivation theory. Creation of a workplace renaissance is suggested, which brings the Quality of Work Life movement to libraries. Managers and nonmanagers' roles, relationships, and responsibilities for creation of an atmosphere conducive to growth are discussed in the framework of the library staff development process. |
