Abstract:English advertising is lively and interesting,concise and humorous,and very impressive.This is due to the application of various figures of speech,for example:pun,simile,metaphor personification,contrast,rhyming,neologism,irony,repetition,rhetorical question etc.From this we can see that advertisement depends much on figures of speech for its success.
