| Abstract: | The present paper focuses on the pragmatic functions of the discourse marker oh in the process of achieving optimal relevance with the framework of relevance theory proposed by Sperber and Wilson with the data collected from the American soap opera Grey＇s Anatomy（season 8）. The author hopes that it will help communicators better understand utterances and communicate with others more smoothly. |
