| 摘 要： | 明清时期．士绅人数剧增．而朝庭能够提供的官职非常有限．这使得希冀通过出仕而谋食的明清士绅面临的生存问题非常严峻；在文化观念上，“贫穷”一词的词义由过去的中性（或不带感情色彩）转变为贬义词．摆脱“贫穷”也就意味着摆脱与之对应的富含道德贬义的“懒惰”；商品经济的长足发展又为他们从事治生之业提供了宽松的外部环境。也促使他们对工商诸业重新审视并逐渐参与其中——物质和精神方面的多重压迫，使得明清士绅家训在论及治生问题时表现出普遍性、深入性和多元性特点．这些特点表明明清士绅家训中治生思想的成熟。
