摘    要:《荒原》被誉为现代诗的里程碑。意象是该诗的主要艺术手法之一。它们种类繁多,来源广泛,看似彼此无涉,实际上都有着或隐或显的内在关联,构成了围绕和深化主题的意象网络,体现了诗人的创作理念,艺术地反映出"一战"后欧洲衰微破败的客观现实和混乱无着的精神状态。

Abstract:The Waste Land is generally regarded as a mi lestone of western modern poetry. Imagery is one of the main artistic devices in the poem and its images have various forms and origins, and they are seemingly unrelated to each other. Virtually, however, these images are closely coherent with each o ther like a netwark surrounding and strengthening the theme of the poem as a ref le ction of the poet's concepts as well as the chaos and dangling state of mental s ituations of European society after World War I.
