摘    要:英语发音的质量是评价英语专业学生语言水平的重要指标之一。然而,经过从初中(或者小学)到大学阶段的英语学习,很多中国学生的英语发音仍然难以达到标准,始终处于语音的"僵化"阶段。本文针对昆明理工大学英语专业大一学生在语音课学期末的语音学习情况进行摸底调查。数据统计的结果显示,昆明理工大学英语专业大一新生的语音学习进程处于中等层次的阶段。针对学生在语音学习方面的问题,该研究提出语音教学必须采用舌位和嘴型的固化训练,在课外建立语音训练工作坊,借助语音学习软件搭建有效的语音学习平台这三项教学改革策略。

Abstract:English pronunciation is considered as an important factor to evaluate language proficiency of Englishmajors. Quite a number of Chinese students, however, have built a “fossilized” pronunciation throughout a long-timeEnglish learning from seventh grade (or grade below ) to college. This paper conducts an investigation of the pronunciationof the KMUST freshmen majoring in English who have just completed one-semester phonetic course. It is found out inthe investigation that English pronunciation of students in question is at intermediate level. Three teaching strategies areproposed to improve students’ pronunciation, they are, tongue and mouth positioning training, setting up pronunciationworkshop, language learning software assistance.
