| 摘 要： | 翻译是在特定的历史文化环境中进行的动态的语言转换过程。影响翻译的因素很多，林纾译本《现身说法》从译者生活背景、译者主体性和读者期待等三方面探讨了林纾译文“不忠”的原因，进而指出“忠实”不应该是评价译作价值的惟一标准，能否符合当时社会的发展潮流、能否推动译语文化的发展才是我们评价译作的首要考虑因素。

| Abstract: | This paper discusses the causes for Lin Shu＇s unfaithful translation of Childhood, Boyhood and Youth by Leo Tolstoy and points out that translation is a kind of dynamic transformation which involves the restriction of certain factors, such as the translator＇s background, subjectivity and readers＇ expectation. Faithfulness should not be taken as the sole criterion for evaluating translated works. What outweighs all other considerations is that whether the translation is in line with the trend of the times and whether it can promote the development of target cultures. |
