| 摘 要： | 泰文中的“泰”字，最通用的广义有两种：一是指泰族或泰人，泰拳就是“泰族的独有拳术”；二是指自由——“泰”有和平及自由之意，泰国又有自由国之称。泰拳因此可以称作“自由拳术”。

| Abstract: | Thai boxing is a form of hard martial art practiced in large parts of the world, including Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries. It has a long history in Thailand and is the country＇s national sport. Traditional Thai boxing practiced today varies significantly from the ancient art muay boran and uses kicks and preaches in a ring with gloves similar to those used in westem boxing. |
