| 摘 要： | 英语定语从句在汉译时一般只考虑语序调整和逻辑关系的具体化，而忽视主从句的信息地位，也很少考虑主句和定语从句信息地位的改变对译文交际效果可能产生的影响。针对这一情况，提出了英语定语从句汉译的信息对等原则，认为为保证译文的交际效果与原文一致，翻译时就应该尽可能保证汉语译文中原英语定语从句所承载信息的信息地位保持不变。

| Abstract: | In translating English relative clauses into Chinese, translators tend to attach more importance to the linear syntactic adjustments and specification of the logical relations between the main clause and the relative clause, but few of them take into consideration the factors such as informational status and function of the clauses. In light of this, some principles for translating English relative clauses into Chinese are proposed in the paper, which hold, in order to keep the original communicative effect in the target text, translators should guarantee that the informational status of the English relative clause should be maintained in the target text. |
