| Abstract: | In the end of the Ming Dynasty, Shen Hao wrote Hua Zhu, a work on painting.He noted that the paintings of the South School were literati's which he advocated while that of the North School were c onnoisseurs'. The South School valued spirit, rhyme and conciseness, which refle cted his ideal of aesthetics. |
