| Abstract: | This article introduces theories and ideas of Van Geldren, the person who initiated the long-wave theory. Two models of the long-wave theory are compared. They are the Marxist model and the neo\|Schumpeterian model. The author maintains that development of long-wave theory points to the direction of combining the two models, which calls for altering the traditional Marxist theory of declining profit rates. |
